500 words 26 January Speech in English for Class- 5 to 10

Good morning everyone. My name is Ak Sharma and I study in class ………… We all know that we have gathered here on the very special occasion of our nation India, which is called Republic Day. I want to read the speech on Republic Day in front of you all.

First of all, I would like to thank my teacher, because of which I got a golden opportunity to say something about my beloved country on this great occasion of 72st Republic Day on this stage of my school.

Speech of the Republic Day

Since 15 August 1947, India is a self-governing country. India gained independence from British rule on August 15 in 1947, which we celebrate as Independence Day. However, from 1950 to 26 January we celebrate Republic Day.

The Constitution of India came into force on 26 January 1950, so we celebrate this day every year as Republic Day. This year in 2021, we are celebrating India’s 72th Republic Day.

Republic means that only the people have the right to choose their representatives as political leaders for the supreme power of the people living in the country and to lead the country in the right direction.

Therefore, India is a republic country where people choose their leader as the Prime Minister. Our great Indian freedom fighters fought a lot for “Purna Swaraj” in India. He sacrificed his life so that his upcoming generation does not have to struggle and take the country forward.

The great leaders and freedom fighters of our country are Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Lala Lajpat Rai, Sardar Ballabhbhai Patel, Lal Bahadur Shastri etc. These people fought continuously against the British to make India a free country.

We can never forget his dedication to our country. We should salute by remembering them on such great occasions. Only because of these people is it possible that we can think with our mind and live free in our nation without any pressure.

Our first President was Dr Rajendra Prasad who said, “Under the jurisdiction of a constitution and a union, we have got together the entire land of this vast land which is more than 130 crore men and women living here.

Takes responsibility for welfare. How shameful it is to say that we are still fighting crime, corruption and violence (in the form of terrorism, rape, theft, riots, strike etc.) in our country. Again, everyone needs to be together to save the country from such slavery because it is pulling its country back from its mainstream of development and progress.

To go ahead and solve them, we should be aware of our social issues like poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, global warming, inequality etc.

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam has said that “If a country is freed of corruption and becomes a nation of beautiful minds, I feel strongly that there are three core members who can make a difference.” He is a father, mother and a guru ”. As a citizen of India, we should think about it seriously and make all possible efforts to advance our country.

Thank you, Jai Hind.
